Celebrate Cinco by Mayo!

I’m hosting my first reading challenge! (Yes, Frida’s presence is required on all of my sites, okay?).  I created this challenge mostly because Hispanic Latin@ Heritage Month annoys me, so might as well do something awesome with it.

What you need to know: Cinco by Mayo is a reading challenge that celebrates Latin@ authors. It kicks off on September 15, 2010 (the start of Latino Heritage Month), and ends on Cinco de Mayo 2011.

The rules are simple: Read 5 books by Latin@ authors by Cinco de Mayo. One of the books must be by a Mexican or Mexican-American author.* Other than that, feel free to choose whichever Latin@ authors you want!

  • Ebooks and audiobooks are allowed.
  • Crossovers with other challenges are allowed.
  • All genres are welcome.

Interested? Sign up here.

*If we’re going to further appropriate a Mexican holiday by calling the challenge “Cinco by Mayo,” the least we can do is acknowledge a Mexican author, ya know?
